Sale Catalogue

A supplementary sheet will be provided on sale day supplying EBV’s and Raw Data information collected on each lot.

This information will be available 2 weeks prior to sale date by contacting the selling agents and will be provided at pre-sale inspections, once available.

Estimated Breeding Value’s are expressed as the difference between an individual animal’s genetics and genetic bas or historic genetic level of the population, to which an animal is compared. It is impossible to determine an animal’s true breeding value, but it is possible to estimate it. The accuracy value provides an indication of the reliability of the EBV. It is an indication of the amount of information that has been used in the calculation of the EBV.

<50% = preliminary or low accuracy

50-74% = medium accuracy

75-90% = medium to high accuracy

>90% = high accuracy

Raw data is an actual measurement and a proven fact, and all testing of the Carinya Garglen sale bulls has been carried out by a professional in the field of data collection. We will provide data for morphology, scrotal measurements, semen % motile, EMA, IMF, rib fat  - measured between the 12th and 13th rib, P8/Rump fat measured between the hip and pin, Weight-date taken will be advertised and ADWG - average daily weight gain for whole of life.

A final weight will be taken as close to the sale date as possible. ADWG – average daily weight gains will then be calculated on that weight. Both these figures will be printed on the supplementary sheet.

This determines the DNA testing results for each animal.

SV = Sire Verification

DV = Dam Verification

PV = Both sire and dam have been DNA verified

On each lot in the catalogue, you will find a table. This is for your convenience to transfer relevant data from the supplementary sheet to the relative lot on each page. These figures cannot be added to the catalogue prior to printing due to time restrictions, however we feel it will allow you to transfer figures of importance to lots of interest and simplify the need to continually refer back to the supplementary sheet.
